Dr. Kent Sasse met with legislative members to discuss the issue of childhood obesity. |
Dr. Robert Watson of Western Bariatric Institute presented to over 200 7th & 8th graders at Yvonne Shaw Middle School in Sparks. Students enjoyed an interactive presentation regarding the obesity epidemic and were encouraged to make healthy eating and exercise a part of their daily lives. |
Although I did not have high expectations for an hour long assembly, Dr. Watson really impressed me with his delivery (at the children's level) and he made it fun and memorable for the students and for us teachers. I feel that my kids did walk away from that assembly learning something about what foods they eat and how to be more active in taking care of their bodies. I appreciate his time spent with us. I would recommend that assembly every year at any school.
Thank you.
